Hello all. I spoke to a senior leader within the WebOS support and engineering team. He provided me with the following info:
The WebOS team did acknowledge that there are two sources of batteries for the HP TP. Many WebOS team members were unaware of this fact until we brought it to their attention. Based on my conversation it is my understanding that both batteries met the internal testing criteria thus meeting the minimum (projected) charge uptime as well as charging cycles over the life of the battery. In a nut shell if you have one of the batteries that registered 6281 considered this a bonus because this battery actually exceeds specs while the one that registers 5647 is at spec. Regardless the performance according to the WebOS team for both batteries should be comparable. CEEJAY who ran a test on his own can attest that both TP's lasted the same amount of time under identical testing circumstances. I feel for the WebOS team as there is obviously a internal communication nightmare going on right now (no one shared this with my I am surmising) and I appreciate the WEBOS team members reaching out to me directly and addressing this concern. At the end of the day I believe this is a moot point because not much can be done but in reality both batteries will most likely give you the same amount of juice between charges and they will both be able to be charged (cycled) the same amount of times. So now I am going to sit back and enjoy the two TP's that I have in hand. Thanks Webos team, keep on truckin....... |

I voted incorrectly... is it possible to change it?
According to Dr. Battery, all three of my 16GB Touchpads(ordered from HP.com) are currently showing: 95% Manufacturer 6612 mAh Calculated Left 6281 mAh Is this bad? ![]() P.S. Is Dr. Battery really capable of accurate readings from Touchpads? Isn't it designed for webOS phones? |

Try running diagnostics... Open Device Info > tap the App Menu (uper left corner of screen when App is in full screen mode) > select Diagnostics and run the Power tests... Do you have Preware? If yes... Got Dr. Battery? I always charge with Dr. Battery open as it gives a lot of info that is useful. Is the device getting overheated when charging? How do you charge? USB? AC? TouchStone? Got Govnah? Open Govnah and make some observations. Is the CPU constantly running at a high rate? Is the device running hot? Check this thread: http://forums.webosnation.com/webos-...ry-health.html
