    In your experiences, what is the best phone and service to use for tethering.

    Requirements:
    I would like to keep the hardware price under $100 w/ new contract.
    I would like to tether a laptop as well as my TP.
    Would like to keep the phone "stock" (no rooting) if possible.
    Would like a high quality phone build-wise.

    Facts;
    I don't "think" the Veer is the way to go - but I could be wrong.
    I have an aversion to Samsung & LG phones - please do not recommend.
    Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile all have acceptable 4g reception (or equivalent) where I live and frequent.
    I do like Blackberries and Nokias, but, I don't believe I will be able to tether the TP to any of these.

    Thank you
    Michael

    Is the HTC Evo 4g still relevant?

    HP Veer rox, offers H+ speeds, and lets you make calls from your touchpad.

    the Pre2 on Verizon also rox.

    I'm not sure if you can even find a veer TBH. I think all HP/Palm phones are currently sold out due to firesale prices.
