Default New Touchpad ... dropped .. Glass shattered

Touchpad dropped and the front glass has shattered.

Just spoke with HP support ... quoting £200 for a repair !

Does anyone know where or if spare parts are going to come onto the market.

There's so little information at the moment.

Thanks

Gavin

Probably ate something greasy and then picked up the TP.

Oh no.

I don't know whether or not we'll see spare parts. You might try getting a quote from someone different. In the mall where I live there's kiosk where they claim to do iPhone repairs. If there's anything lime that around you might see if they can service it.

Unhappy

Sorry to hear that. Did y u have it in a case? Because mine is not in a case and I think about that happening to me. I think I will put mine away and use my laptop until I get a case with some kind of protection. Back
In the box mine goes.

By the way, if you bought your TouchPad with a credit card, you might be covered by purchase protection. At least in the U.S., some credit cards offer 90 days of purchase protection for all purchases made on the card, meaning that if anything happens to the device during the protection period (even accidental damage), the credit card company will cover repair or replacement. It's worth calling your credit card company to ask.

I don't know if they have spare parts available here or not but they do a good job of identifying parts and making them available for other items. Try ifixit.com.

I'm so nervous we don't have a case for the wifes.... running to BB today to pickup Madden, a TP TS, and a BT KB. might look for an iPad 1 generic case for now. Have a case on order from Amazon but it's a few weeks out according to them.
