Mine was showing "https://webmail.ihostexchange.net"
I changed it to just "webmail.ihostexchange.net"

I had this problem with other devices that want to access Exchange. It must be automatically inserting the https:\\ so essentially we have it in there twice.

Good luck!
Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. When I removed the https:// my touchpad came back with an error that it couldn't connect to the server....

Although, I appreciate you telling me this because I actually opened a ticket with HP. I can share this feedback with them and perhaps it may resolve the problem in an update, so thanks!

I am having the exact same issue. Email is just fine. Calendar is not showing anything. Not really worried about contacts but they aren't syncing either.

Hotmail, and also gmail, both offer support for ActiveSync (Microsoft's proprietary email syncing solution). So all you have to do is add either one as an Exchange account instead of the dedicated hotmail/gmail options.

Links to both for setting it up with iphone, but you can apply the same logic to the touchpad/pre etc

I take that back. I had thought that when I set up my exchange account for email that it would also set up the account for the calendar, but it appears it didn't. I added the account the the calendar and it's working fine. Syncing both ways.

If you go into the calendar preferences, you will see a couple of options...
Things to check:
  1. Click the sync now button
  2. check the colours of your accounts. Then go back to the calendar main page, there are little boxes at the top that describe each account. Make sure that it's coloured and not a box with a minus sign. If it's a box with a minus sign, tap it and it should change back to a colour.

Is Hardbeatz still out there?

If so, can you bring this up to your internal folks at Palm/HP? I've opened a ticket for this and no one can solve the problem. They just keep having me remove and add the calendar back in. It's not working. Thundar pointed out that on his touchpad, removing the https:// helped him sync his calendar, but unfortunately I get an error "Unable to connect to server." (Error code 3099: http connection error: 7) This is because our company's exchange server only allows https and not http.

Hoping this can be brought to the higher-level tech's/programmers at HP/Palm.

Thanks!

Well, problem somewhat solved. It seems to be sync'ing now, but it took some finagling. Here's what we did:

(Actually, my first step involved removing any additional calendars that existed on the exchange server. Believe it or not, I had two in a trash bin, but the touchpad amazingly still seemed to reference and attempt to load them)

- First, I removed the Exchange account from my touchpad by going into "Accounts" and removing the Exchange account from within that app.

- Next, I created a new calendar in a personal folder (file on my laptop and not on the Exchange Server) in Outlook. (our exchange server is version 2003 and my outlook is version 2010)

- I then set the online calendar and the newly created "offline" calendar to "List Mode" so I could see the appointments in list format, rather than seeing them in a calendar view.

- I highlighted all my appointments (CTRL A) on the Exchange calendar, then cut them (CTRL X) and pasted them (CTRL V) into the offline calendar I just created.

- Next, I moved all reoccurring appointments from the newly created calendar back over to the online calendar.

- I then moved all remaining appointments from the current month only and forward, back to the Exchange calendar. (no appointments prior to the current month, or no more 1 to 2 weeks previous)

- I then added the Exchange account back on the Touchpad by using the "Accounts" app.

This seemed to work for me, however, anytime I copied any type of appointments from the previous month or earlier (about 2 weeks in), it would no longer work. I'm not sure why. I thought at first it might have been an appointment, but I couldn't narrow it down - it gave very intermittent results. I think it may have something to do with older appointments. Of course, google calendar does not give me this problem, but wanted to post it here in case anyone else is having the same issue and cannot figure it out.

For anyone else who is trying this, I would do it one step at a time. The above steps worked for me, but it might be different for you. I would first try cleaning out everything from your online calendar (also making sure there are no multiple online calendars - just one). Then add a few new appointments for future dates, not previous dates. Sync your calendar and see what happens.

Good luck and I hope Palm/HP figures out why this is happening.

so much for my assumption that this worked. Now my gmail calendar isn't syncing properly. I've created an appointment days ago in gmail using my palm pre and today I just realized that it didn't sync on my touchpad.

There is clearly something wrong with calendaring on the touchpad. Palm - you've got to fix this. If there is one thing I can't stand about mobile devices is when they're unreliable. Calendaring is SO important to get right. If I start missing my appointments, I will be moving off to another platform.

Ugh. I'm so frustrated with HP lately. I just feel like they've completely destroyed my favorite OS and there's nothing out there I want.

I won't go iOS (too expensive and too big brother"y") and I won't go Android (just feels too much like and old linux desktop and isn't smooth, especially in scrolling and os feel). What a sad day.
