    It just goes to sleep and pops up with the lock screen, it's not rest starting...

    What's going on?

    Are you holding power long enough for the shutdown box to appear?

    Yep, I'm doing a full erase and see if that works, trying to preware it.

    Get preware > look for "Advanced Reset Options" app by Jason R. He writes a lot of home-brew apps and this one helps you have some power-off options.

    Without using preware, will it ever be possible to switch off the touchpad when it encounters this problem? I can't switch mine off to restart it which is annoying as it seems to have some RAM issue where it doesn't want to open any more than 3 browser cards.

    Hold down the power bottom and the home button at the same time. Do this for about 10-15 seconds, it should reboot.
