I just got one 32G at a local best buy yesterday. They have 32 units and only 6 people waiting there when i got there. Acutally, there is another best buy saying they will get more today. I am Richmond, VA.

I drove 30 minutes to a Best Buy, FORTY FIVE MINUTES before they opened, and guess what? They already handed out all the vouchers! There were people camped out there

I'm about to just go buy an Android tablet out of sheer frustration

Our local BB's are all saying they can't sell any of their stock because there might be an ad coming out tomorrow. Does anyone have any details on this? Maybe a photo of the ad?
Hopefully this might be a way for people to get one.

I was told yesterday that one of the Milwaukee area stores was going to be selling some this morning. I showed up at the store at 8:30 and there were well over 100 people there. They did get in 45 though. However, I did not get one. It was a pretty ridiculous scene though. I'd say there were 10 people overall who actually knew what a Touchpad was prior to last Thursday. A lot of people there just for a deal. Great, but for those that have wanted one since February, this is becoming quite a joke. I know, I could have plunked down $500 or $600 in July, but I don't have that kind of cash to spend on this item. Oh well, I'm still optimistic this won't be the last Webos tablet to ever come out. Somebody will buy/license the os and bring out a better product in the next 12 months! At least that what's I keep telling myself.

I went to my Salt Lake City store (2100 S) 1hr before they opened and got one of the 50 vouchers they handed out on Friday. They said they will be doing it again soon. I would assume next Friday since their shipments come on Thursday night.

I gave up on wasting my time trying to find one at the firesale price.

It got to the point where my time was worth way mkre than trying to find one from a retailer.

I ended up buying a 16gb from Craigslist for $175 and a 32gb on eBay for $225 and called it a day. Still great deals and no more headaches.

Found out about the flash sale on Aug 20 in the morning. Called all over the Albuquerque area to any store I could think that had them. All sold out or just sold out. Gave up and went to Santa Fe to meet up with friends to celebrate fiance's birthday. Just for kicks we went into a Staple's store thirty minutes after they opened and fiance' joked that they probably didn't have any more TouchPads in stock and the manager said that they actually had two of the 32gb ones. He didn't think about it and bought them both; one for him for his birthday and one for me cause I'm awesome (lol). Sheer freaking luck I tell you!

BUT what really brasses me off is the people who buy 10-20 of them when they find a place that has them in stock then tries to sell them on craigslist or eBay for the old prices! Thankfully it seems people are wising up to the ploy and not buying TPs from them. Although I wonder if the truly desperate are paying bigger amounts to get them on eBay...now I wonder if you do that, would HP refund you the difference between what you paid and the flash sale price as they are doing for those who bought TPs when they first came out? Might be something to look into for those of you still looking for one.

This is hilarious, my local store was apparently getting so much demand, that their very 1st thing on their pre-recorded msg was that they were sold out of hp touchpads and would not get anymore. When I bought mine there on launch day it was like, touchpad what ? And why would you buy that ? Lol

Swung by the local BB this afternoon and the sales guy seemed annoyed when I asked him if any HP's were coming in. He made it clear that none were coming in....."ever". Not sure why some stores getting them and others aren't. I grabbed a 32 at hhgregg last Saturday but would love a 16 for my wife.

Sales reps have no idea whats coming. Most of the stock is sold out so what your buying are probably returned items from people who wanted there 300-600 dollars back.

When I got one before the fire sale the sales people seemed confused I didn't even look at the ipoop

HP actually isn't sending any more TP out to retailers. Any they have left they will sell on their site. So anyone stating that the store will be getting more in is probably mistaken. I do not believe retailers still have orders out for these and even some retailers have opted to send their stock back to HP.

Not always. Bought two brand new factory sealed 32gb at Staples on the 20th. Hopefully they're not returning them because they're upset at the price difference as most retailers and HP themselves will refund the difference.

I'm in management for Staples in Canada and I know that our category specialists/buyers are trying their damndest to get more TP's, especially if the rumour about Best Buy not wanting their stock is true. From my understanding, we're going to sell them at the same price points if we're able to get our hands on any more.

What state are you in? The manager at my BB told me today they their warehouse's were empty and the only way they would get more was if they were shipped directly from HP.

When did HP say they were no longer distributing to retailers since they are still producing more TP's with the parts they still have for making them. Though I believe ya and it makes sense since it cuts down on added costs.

I think BB may be limiting their stock & sending it out in portions bc they can drive more people to come in & keep coming back if they know there may be another shipment of some coming in. It's a loss leader to drive traffic & they are already getting paid back by HP for the reduced price. Look at how many people keep flocking back to secure one !

I know last weekend. Best Buy I went to had over 150 people in line a half hour before they opened. I was 3rd in line & got there 2 hours before. I got a 32 & they only had 25 in stock. The day before I tried Walmart, and the guy said they had over 300 people come in looking for one, and Staples guy said probably 75 or more people asked if they had any in.

Retailers should be loving the foot traffic bc they can still get 2ndary sales off this for people picking up other items since they are already in the store. Businesses promote loss leaders all the time to drive traffic

got to the mall of America right as they gave out final vouchers, no touchpad for us.
.we start talking with an employee and he notices 45 are coming in at nearby apple valley. We race there, only to be told what they got today would be sold in the morning.. At that point my family had already been burned by onsale, so we said screw it and 3 of us camped at the apple valley store..thought we'd be first because we got there at 4:30...we were 25-27th. By the time it opened? The line was blocking 4 stores, 200ish people. They had 65 total, we got 3 touchpads, I'm typing on it now, just put in the effort and you'll get a touchpad.
