It'll need some work, as many of the Preware apps recommended (e.g., Buttah) don't seem to work under 3.0.5. Also, the custom keyboards fail to install.

so i updated my touchpad over the air and it gave me an error that made me have to run a web os doctor. when the touchpad was restoring it started downloadin all the apps i had downloaded from the hp catalog which were maily useless so i canceled their download. however the icons are now on the menu but half translucid and see through and the apps just dond exist because they were not downloaded. but the icons are there half see through and i dont know how to remove them. please

Is there a red circle in their upper right corner and is the update icon in the notofication area still active? If not this should be indicating finished download, so I would try the reboot and rescan: Tap and hold center, volume up and power buttton for approx 15 secs until HP logo is displayed.

If that doesn't work I guess you have to doctor again and don’t abort the re-install process.

The translucent apps were restoring themselves (downloading from HP).

You are supposed to wait for them to download, at which point they'll be usable. I've never canceled their downloads, so I'm not sure what to suggest you try. My only thought is tap-hold for a few seconds on the icon, then hopefully a little red X will pop up on top of the icon that allows you to remove them.

I usually wait until everything settles after a patch to update this post. Every patch brings different challenges and/or different recommendations. I'll get around to updating the post once most of the patches are updated and I have had a chance to do all the updates/changes to my own touchpad.

I would suggest adding this one to the initial post:

Noticed something in Touchpad conf files

This patch increases the card size for mojo apps to a more decent size.

I've had this happen now 3 times. I followed the procedures at the top of this thread and wonder if something needs to be uninstalled in order to upgrade the OS.

Specifically the message was "installation failed try again later".

    Any ideas are welcome.

Are you sure your wifi connection is functioning correctly? Good connection...any login required?

This is kind of a random question, but I googled around and had trouble finding an answer; how does a software restart differ from holding down the sleep/home buttons for a restart?

OK, I am a complete WebOS noob here so please bare with me. I just got my Touchpad and am going through the steps. Everything is going well so far however I keep running into the same issue. I go to Preware and try searching for the tweaks and apps that everyone mentions but can hardly find ANY.

I have searched for and cannot find the following:

    Ad Block
    Touchplayer
    Unthrottle Download Manager
    Remove Tap Ripple
    Remove Dropped Packet Logging
    Buttah
    Muffle System Logging

And many others. I have Preware version 1.9.10 if that helps.

EDIT: Reading around it seems that I got my TP just after a big update that has caused these to stop working and stop showing up. Is this correct? Also, I found the 3.0.4 patches feed and have added it. Is it safe to install some of these or do I need to wait for the updates?

Important notice about patches and 3.0.5
The link above should answer your questions on the patches. Bottom line is that the patches will not show up for 3.0.5 until they are updated. Some of the 3.0.4 patches will work, but no one knows if when the 3.0.5 patches show up and are installed on top of the 3.0.4 patches what will happen to the function of the touchpad. If you use the 3.0.4 patches, please uninstall them before installing the 3.0.5 patches.

hey guys, i read something today that made me jump up and down. Apparently there has been some cyanogenmod 9 alpha built that will enable us hp touchpad users install ice cream sandwich in our tablets. I'm excited and i wanted to ask if any of you has found out anything about this. The news is on a tech webpage called stuff.tv and there is a link as to the instructions of doing this. I just wanted to run this by you and by ncinerate to see if it'd be safe to do it and whether we should get our hopes up. Personally i would loove to have ice cream sandwich on my TP. What say you guys?

It exists, it's awesome, it runs AMAZINGLY, but it's also buggy and incomplete right now and I seriously recommend NOT installing it until a more stable release.

At any rate, the powers that be here in this forum don't allow us to talk about Android on the touchpad (they point out that this forum is specifically for webOS discussion). So there's not much I will say beyond that.

I wasn't sure where to ask this question. I had some patches installed on 3.04. I removed them all prior to updating to 3.05. Can I load my saved package package list? My understanding is as long as I don't enable the 3.04 feeds it will only load those that have been updated to 3.05 compatibility. I don't want to run into any issues with the AUPT issue or whatever the acronym is that the preware guys are fixing the code for.

Yeah, you should be fine. Everything should work as-expected and 3.0.5 patches should be back online for use fairly soon. Just stay away from enabling 3.0.4 feeds.

Anyone else get the 3.0.5 build #86 update yesterday? I've noticed that since the update, the 1.512 overclock profile doesn't show up anymore.
