To install Preware go back to the beginning of this thread and follow the directions. They worked for this 74 year old grandmother who is having a ball with her Touchpad!
    Ordered One 16 Gb 08/21
    Delivered 10/20

The hulu fix still exists - see my signature line (there's a link there).

It's a -bit- harder to do than a simple patch from preware, but it does work. I don't recommend it to everyone, but if you feel fairly confident of your computer skills there's no harm in installing it.

Hi I have dl your Don't Panic as my wallpaper. My tp has been working fine until I showed it to my step-son who tried to get on his wireless connection at his house and proceeded to f***k it up. I don't know what he did but all I get is the usb logo on the screen and when I connect it to my pc,just once did I get an error failed to fine device. Also when I hold the power button down it does nothing. I guess I'll have to wait till the battery dies and see if it will reboot. can you help me ? Thanks

Well I plugged it in to outlet and then after a little while ,the plug logo came on then the lightning bolt charger logo then after another few hours the HP logo then it booted up . Battery only showing 4% charged, now 5%. I guess it's on it's way to full recovery. Have to admit I did panic, a few wadafa!!

Next time you get the USB logo filling the screen, try holding down the power button and the home button together for about 20-30 seconds and it should boot.

I'm new here but I just wanted to thank the OP. With this tutorial I was able to get my tablet working in a few hours. The reason It took me so long was 1. the device came completely drained, 2. the provided USB cable didn't work (luckily I had another around the house) and 3. I couldn't update it via the OTA interface. Overall very happy with my ($149) purchase.

Glad I could be of assistance! Sounds like what could have been a nightmare of a situation turned quite positive . That's the biggest reason I created this post in the first place and I'm happy it helped.

    ^^ This

I'm sorry I didn't get in touch sooner, I'd have helped you through this. Glad you handled it .

For the record - the USB logo pops up if you boot the touchpad up while holding down the volume-up button. It's mostly for recovery purposes, but holding down home/power for a nice long time will reboot everything.

Hold down the power button until a reboot-options menu pops up, and select shutdown.

    That's the easiest way.

how do i get webOS doctor to not unzip when i click it? i downloaded it from the internals page. i'd like to go back to 3.0.2 if possible. the audio is borked and i have to do a full restart or stop the video and close out the player and find my place again in the video, but that doesn't always work, so i have to reboot it.

i just want to see if 3.0.4 is the problem.

Make sure java is installed, right click on the file, and run it as a java executable.

As for your sound issues - apparently lots of people are experiencing occasional sound-borking that requires a reboot to fix. No idea why, but it is absolutely connected to 3.0.4.
