Can we make this a sticky. Lot of new people(like me) will come in and need steps to get started. I am thinking of posting links here on what to read and in what sequence. Old timers and pros please keep adding.

    1. Read the how do I's: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touc...-i-thread.html
    2. Speed up system: How to improve the performance of your new HP TouchPad | ZDNet
    3. Update system software: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touc...0-2-first.html

I know next steps include installing apps and then prewar etc.
    Can others please add? Thanks!

    repost, but good info.

A bunch of new people will soon figure out that this WebOS is actually quite nice, especially if HP would put work to optimize it.

    I agree with this.

The more I use this tablet/device, the more I am liking it, that's for sure.

I'm instantly impressed. First off, Konami code gets you to dev mode? AWESOME!

Just completed steps 2 and 3 in OP and ready to play with this bad boy. Thanks for the introductory info!

I've always avoided trying to make changes to software and stuff, just seems like when I do those things bad things happen. Anyway, has anyone had problems with the procedures mentioned in Step 2 above, the changes mentioned in the article? Do you really notice much difference?

Also, is there a thread that discusses which Home Brew patches are worth considering for the TP?
