So, here's the thing, if you're a citi card member, you might have a way around the out of stock TouchPads.
Citi Card offers a thing called CitiPriceRewind, if you purchase an item and the price drops within 30 days of the purchase, you send in a claim and they'll refund you the difference.
That being said, I purchased my TouchPad on day one, 16GB, and the price dropped $50 (which they found). I got my rebate check, which I still haven't cashed yet, and it was a pretty quick transaction. So in all, I got the $50 back from Citi and the $50 app credit from HP.
I haven't purchased another TouchPad yet, but my idea is that I'll purchase one from whoever has it at regular price (Amazon - 32GB - $475.30) and send in a claim for that. I'll only get up to $250 back, but $225.30 is a lot better of a price than $499.
You could do the same for the 16GB model as well.
But that's just my idea, I'm waiting to see if the new price tags are actually found/matched by citi's website.
Just wanted to share that information with people.
