At a local electronics shop, I happened upon a husband and wife perusing the available tablets. They went down through each of the Android tablets and didn't linger any longer than a couple of minutes on each. Then they walked over to the iPad display and spent probably 3 minutes on that, put it down, and then picked up the TouchPad. From that point on, they did not look at anything else.

She kept remarking how easy it was to do things. She was stacking cards and doing all sorts of things. I heard how she liked the thickness and how it felt in her hand.

I walked over to her to help her out because the employee was so inept it was heartbreaking.

I told her about the Pre 3 and the functionality that would bring (ATT).

Since I have both the iPad and the Touchpad, she asked me which I preferred. I told her for developement, my iPad. For daily use, the TouchPad.

That's the best part about the Touchpad. Get it into peoples hands and it sells itself.

yeah, HP needs to just wake up and cut the premium price of the TP.... Once webOS has decent user base they can start to release higher end models. People right now are so used to apple and android many have a hard time seeing how simple webOS makes things happen

They did cut the price. If they cut it further, they are just going to alienate people.

I don't think that cutting the price will do squat. You need to talk those misguided souls as 'local electronics shops' that rhyme with 'Messed My' into selling them.

just in my local office max and got to touch my first TP, Samsung Tab, Toshiba Thrive, Xoom and some Acer thing.

Pleasantly surprised by the feel of TP and didn't mind the weight of it all and liked the feel of it much better than I though I would after reading about it. Did appreciate the lightness of the Tab & enjoyed playing with it. though and more unfortunate, the Tab was the only one that could be turned on. All the others were dead even thought they were plugged in. TP would give the red low charging plug icon and then just shut off

I should have clarified. They sell themselves if you can actually use them in their hands.

Isn't that said about any product. Hopefully when the Pre 3 comes out its put next to the touchpad at retailers so one can show TTS and SMS sharing.

But if it sells itself then it wouldn't matter what anyone said or did, the touchpad would sell itself! The iPad sells itself, the touchpad not so much!

The TouchPad sells itself when people get a chance to use it. All good products sell themselves. It's hard to decide to buy something, even an iPad, without using it first.
