Yes, it is generally a good idea to revert to the default kernel before an over the air update. Although, there are some here who have reported to have updated to webOS 3.0.2 without removing the overclocked kernels. But, this may be only because of the similiarity between the 3.0.0 kernel and the 3.0.2 kernel. Therefore as stated earlier, it is always best to revertr to the native kernel before a OTA update.
