and my TP just sat there on the screen and said, "Waiting for the network". Is there a large update or is it just stuck with a problem? It has been over 10 minutes. I closed it and tried again and it does the same thing.

I thinbk every TP owner is checking for the update and bogging down the system.

The only thing you are missing is that precious time you could of spent doing all kinds of other amazing stuff on the TouchPad.

I know that some people are REALLY upset with their TouchPads are not as good as they wanted. I have never had a Palm product but I really like that I can watch Flash videos and play my angry birds. I have the Kindle app and can't wait until there is a Nook app and I will be all set. why would you check for updates. The notifications come up whenever I have an update and I just click on it then. Just today it came up and said I had 15 app updates.

I had a notification from the software manger today telling me an update was available, then it just said something along the lines "cannot be done at this time" so I thought i'd do a manual check, and none of my apps seem to need an update- odd!

Took mine 8 seconds. Up to date.

I've never been one to wear out the update icon on any webOS device. I just check the forums here at PreCentral and I'll know right away when an update is available.

LOL, so true. If there is ever a WebOS update, be it a phone or soon to be TP, you will see it here first.

Did you notice ? Actually it seems impossible to update or download apps today from tha app catalog. Plus at 3am this morning the french app cat has been updated with pivot mag, which was not available before. My bet is something is on its way.

i've had this happen to me a couple times too, actually when the kindle app was first updated. once that "cannot be done" comes up, there seems to be no way to tell what was updated. the manual check shows nothing and the app cat shows "launch" button instead of "update" button for apps that need to be updated.

i believe this reflects a problem with the software manager app, and a reboot should resolve it.

after the reboot, if the notification doesn't pop up after 5 or so minutes, go into the app catalog, then the app details for each app that requires an update, and there is an "update" button for you to tap.

Did reboot but still, app updates and download not available. And there's an exclamation mark near the launch button of the app that needs to be updates.

It really seems that sth is on its way, even more with this recent french app cat update

We are currently experiencing some difficulties with App Catalog downloads. This is under current investigation and we hope to have it back up soon.

    Thank you for your patience.

Not only can't I update, but when the apps that were showing updates tried to update, they don't work anymore. App Catalog being one of them. Tapping them opens a phone emulator and browser card trying to get to index.html.
