Yeah its too sad so I'm not going to go into great detail...

went to turn in rental car

Went to get on my Flight from wisconsin to baltimore

Went to do some free tethering and no Touchpad...

Back tracked it to the rental car glove box

Ran all the way back and 20min later it was not there!

Yes I argued a little, even searched after the car... After it was cleaned... Only hope I have is that someone is honest. Since there waaaas a ipad in lost and found. Oh well...

If I had the dag on 3G/4G I'm sure I could track it back! So I guess I will wait for the ATT version

That's horrible! Let's hope the person who took it is honest. What an awful feeling.

    Sorry.

Try calling them again tomorrow, sunday, monday.

Sometimes it takes time for items to show up in lost and found.

    Hey all,
I recently lost my Touchpad (stolen more like it) at the airport. I went to log into my profile and the touchpad was GONE. Does this mean someone tried the security code too often and it locked out and erased itself? What are my options now? Whe I get a replacement do i need to do all of this over again? Like pay for all of my apps?! Does HP have a way to report and lock them with serial numbers?

Wow, what a dingbat. I've only contacted Palm support once and that was for the headphone jack issue where I couldnt hear my phone ring. They were very supportive.

    Hope you find your TouchPad.
  13. #13
Wow, that's pretty lousy support. I can't believe there's no way to look at the history of your webOS Account when it relates to devices attached or detached from it.

    Figures it's gone from yours.

I'm pretty sure Support can check the S/N of your TouchPad and look up the e-mail address that's currently linked to it.
I once had a Pre IMEI problem (somehow the profile was linked to a completely random IMEI), and I was surprised at what the Support lady could find out.

Apps are linked to your profile of course.
You don't need to doctor just a full erase, it is an option in drvice info.

Pretty unlucky that someone fuund it who decided to steal it AND understood webOS.
  17. #17
Just erasing the TouchPad, whether with a full erase or a doctor, won't remove it from your profile. Removing it from your profile requires you doing so from the profile page or it being added to a different profile.

Get to the right tier of customer support and they should be able to track who's profile has your TouchPad's serial number attached to it.

What did you use to buy the touchpad? Was it an American Express by Chance? or any other credit card? I know Amex will actually send you a check for what you paid for it if it is lost/stolen/broken within 90 days of the purchase date. I dunno if other credit card companies have anything similar but they might! Look into it!

Oh and "Point of Purchase" might be referring to a credit card you might of used? I dunno.
