That theory stops when people gets to use it. It's an expensive item, hp should stop thinking that a premium price can trick potential buyers.

There are alot of factors deciding if a product is premium, most of those are more substantial than a price tag.

Rapid decreasing price may discourage early adopters, but may be necessary for products to survive, less profit is better than no profit.
