I work at a pool, so I am not a techie, which is why I was quite excited to see a guy walk in with an HP WebOS shirt the other day. We struck up a conversation, and I found out that he is a Linux coding specialist for WebOS. I asked about the Pre3, which is what I really cared about, but he said he only worked on the Touchpad. Today he brought in an ATT 4G Touchpad, and better yet he let me play with it. Compared to the one I played with on the first at Fry's it is blazingly fast. 1.5Ghz did the Touchpad good. 4G is quite convenient. I checked the OS version, and it was running 3.0.2, which means nothing to me, but probably means something to someone here. It had kindle, and the moviestore completely functional, which was interesting to play with as well. Just wanted to put the word out here that the 4G version was definitely a step up, in my opinion, compared to the wifi model.

3.0.2 is the version # of the OTA update, so I'm guessing the "blazingly fast" has more to that then the 200 mhz processor bump.

3.0.2 is the most important thing right now because it carries bug fixes. Did yo see clock app?

what was "fast"? Can you give us some precise examples from your "test"?

To be fair, my initial "test" on the wifi Touchpad was to open as many apps as I could, and while that isn't really a test of speed it is a test of user experience which I found to be a little laggy. There was a definitive gap between when you tapped the application and the device responded. With the one I played with today there was no lag. It simply responded. What I did notice was that there were small differences in the hardware, but I was told it was just because it was a prototype, not because it would appear on the consumer devices. I asked if he had seen a white one yet, to which he said "Yes, and it's beautiful." According to him a few choice execs are carrying them right now.
