    Hi
Am a newbie to the TP but have experience with TV tuners. Have been able to successfully stream and watch TV from the following devices:

Hauppauge WinTV Extend 7.2 (Nova TD Stick DVB-T UK Freeview): 1 cpu core was maxing while the other was not being used (maybe both of my CPU are not fully over-clocked using F15c Eagle ???). The Audio and Video was in Sync and watchable, audio was good, the real test is when fast moving sports is on like Soccer but will have to wait till the weekend for that !

PCTV DistanTV Mobile (Nanostick 290e DVB-T2): having a issue where it looks like the Flash is auto loading (some people have mentioned it on other sites that it keeps on flashing and auto loading again and again). Will need more investigation.

PCTV Broadway 2T: does not work at all, you get a message that you browser is too old and need to update ? I have not applied the advanced web browser so will try it but it looks like the stock java / flash needs to be updated ?

Sky TV Go: Needs a updated Silverlight version (There is one for Linux but no way of installing it !!)

Did anyone ever find a way for the TouchPad to access PlayOn outside of a home network?

While I get a pretty good picture on the TouchPad at home with PlayOn, it would be nice to watch Netflix away from home without wasting the limited drive space on Ubuntu, WinXP VMs, android emulators, etc.

Mine works just fine out in the wild. I didn't have to do much. Supposedly all you have to do is run m.playon.tv on the device while you are on your network. Then you should be able to go to that website when you are off your network (but connected to the internet of course).

You can get full access to live satellite, terrestrial tv, pvr functions (pause/record etc), tv schedules, and stream stored audio and video when at home if you have a server running Mediaportal with the 'iPimp' plugin. Everything can be streamed via Flash in the Touchpad browser by pointing it at http://yourmediaserver_name_or_ip/. The default login and password is 'admin'.

MegaUpload (which IceFilms streams from) is not a streaming service. It is a download service. It's the IceFilms and DivX Web plugins that allow the MegaUpload videos to stream. Obviously, these plugins aren't for webOS. However, there is a work-around.
MegaVideo is the streaming (Flash-based) counterpart for MegaUpload. The TouchPad *can* stream from MegaVideo, and nearly all video files on MegaUpload can be streamed via MegaVideo. So:
    - Go to IceFilms and find the video you want to stream
    - On the Sources page, click the MegaUpload link
    - When the link opens, just change the domain from megaupload.com to megavideo.com
    - Stream the video (even full screen works)

The only caveat is that, while MegaUpload has a limit on how much data a free user can download, MegaVideo limits the time a free user can stream video (only 72 minutes at a time). To get around that, you'll need to pay for a premium MegaVideo/MegaUpload account.
I'm hoping that someone writes a webOS app similar to the XBMC IceFilms plugin.

    For Canadian Shaw Cable customers.

If you subscribe to either Superchannel or MovieCentral on your digital cable box, you can stream content from those subscriptions on your TouchPad.

You need to have a @shaw.ca email account, free with your internet.

Go to HD Movies on Demand with Shaw VOD from here you can buy/rent the normal PPV movies, (haven't tried the PPV, but the options are there), as well as any movies that are in the month's listing for those channels are available for immediate stream.

NOTE It says on the website that they do NOT stream in HD, but it's still decent to watch...better than black and white

I got this to work on my home WiFi, but seems like it's not going to happen with freeTether.
Here's some screenshots so you get the idea:

EDIT: I did try this last night with freeTether, it did take a while to load, but it did work....however....the buffer would not keep up. Every minute or so, the movie needed to pause and buffer....not really recommended, but fine if you're at a high-speed WiFi zone.

    http://watch.spacecast.com

Interesting, I didn't feel like making a bunch of bookmarks in the browser, so I just jotted these down in memos. Of course all the .ca's turned into .vs's and I didn't notice and had to fix them all....but they all turn into hyperlinks in the memos.....and you just click on them and they open.

Probably old hat to a bunch of you but that's a new thing for me...probably some others as well

Goes to show you how much I've used Memos, but makes for a quick bookmark list

Thanks for this. Do I need a dedicated server or can I just use my laptop? Will it stream mp3's from a usb external HD to the TP?

I have some experience with how the icefilms works and a basic outline of an idea of how to make a icefilms app work. if somebody that has touchpad dev experience is interested in helping me out, send me a message.

Interesting and not sure how they do this legally, but I don't have a problem with it simply because I pay for all of these that I watch and just have the convenience of taking them with me.

Kinda neat watching the Florida Vs Tennessee game on CBS on both my TP and 50" big screen. CBS on Mobiletv.net audio/video is about a second ahead of normal cable broadcast and obviously the regular HD cable quality is MUCH MUCH better, but it is better then nothing at all. Either way, they are close enough and I love the convenience especially if I want to watch late night from my bed using my TouchPad! Sorli...
