    I love webOS.
    I want a TouchPad.

The trouble is I already have an iPad2 - bought it to hold me over till the TP came out - and I'm having trouble coming up with good excuses to buy another tablet other than webOS is way better than iOS.

    On my iPad a frequently:

Use Skype and the TP seems to have a better version (but a poorer camera?)
Use a ssh app to get to my servers.
    Use IMAP email
    Browse
    Play games
    Watch movies

    I occasionally:
Use apple's office suite to view or edit documents (most often the Numbers)
Use Splashtop to get to a server with a GUI

    Things I cannot do:
Use OpenVPN (not supported by iOS)

Overall I see the big advantages of the TP being webOS and its email client (love being able to have multiple emails open) with the big disadvantages being no Office equivalent...and the unknowns being ssh and OpenVPN.

So edjumacate me please! Thanks in advance.

u can do most of those things now on the TP, but the docs editing, unless u can use the google docs, u may want to hold off for about a month or so untill the update pops up.
other than that im fairly confident the TP does all those things as well or better than the ipad

    What's there to 'rationalize'?

It's simply. You either like the device, or you don't. You'll either support the device and HP to succeed, or you won't.

Besides a few core apps that are missing that will be on the platform soon, both devices are good. It comes down to personal taste and preference.

    easy answer... you wait!

you have an ipad2 and doing everything you want. if your a webos junkie and are still gonna get a tp, then you can afford to wait more than 4 days and buy it when hp sorts it out. you can afford to wait past july 25 to see if hp is telling the truth and gonna fix it. you can really wait until the end of year and see how it's doing after 6 months and whether developers will jump on board and all the apps you enjoy on the ipad2 will appear on the tp.

    what's the hurry?

but if in preware, does that mean it runs in mojo mode and resolution is limited to 320 x 480 resolution?

You want it like the UI and think its better than what you have already

So you have to rationalize? You haven't read the spec sheet, isn't it?

    Don't buy it, it's heavier!!!

    I bought one.
Slower/laggy-er than my iPad2 but much more fun to use. More soon...

If you have to rationalize buying a device. You shouldn't be buying it in the first place. Theres no reason to look for WHY to buy a product. Then again, if you have ungodly amounts of money.. Rationalize all you want.

I disagree... He is not sure if he should buy, why cant he look and weigh his pros and cons.... People that dont rationalize things usually make the wrong decisisons
