how can i extract .zip or .rar files on touchpad

is there a way to extract or open zip or rar files on the touchpad?

Not currently but I do believe that Jason Robitaille has a app in the works that will do just this. Don't know if he's gana pop in and give any official word but he probably won't be done with it for a bit because he's work'n on converting his current apps to Enyo. But it is coming.

it kinda sucks that it is not baked into the Os. It would be sweet if we had a native download manager

I guess so, but do you really need it right now for work on your TouchPad?

Its the linux code that you use when you are in a Terminal (or command line) when you want to use the built in linux service for unzipping a file. Just type this in the terminal, along with the file location and you are golden. But as I said above, you would need a terminal app on device to do this.

don't know if SDLTerminal works on webOS 3.x but in this thread there are infos on unzip via terminal and the upcoming ArchiveXtractor from Jason:

I swear I saw zip/unzip somewhere today on my touchpad. Give me a few mins to find it...

Why not just use the zip/unzip that are in Preware for now? At least until they make a touchpad specific one?

I think you are talking about a javascript service that is used by save/restore and not a mojo app.

I would like this too. It would help us to install themes on a touchpad. Set up the folder structure and tell it to overwrite images you have set up in the folders.
