But yeah, hoping someone remembers to give this a shot when purchasing early tonight... I'll still try it regardless tomorrow, but it would be nice to know ahead of time.

Trust me, I won't make us look like fools . I'll politely ask for the manager and clarification, then an explanation of why the product isn't on the exclusion list. I'm just not understanding why they can't add "desktops, laptops, and tablets" into that list. They seem to mention every other product in the store, I don't know what they left out.
    product drivers.

you cheapen some products to pull people in the store. then you make money on everything else.

Any idea if I can show that code from my phone? My printer's acting up, and I don't want to deal with it.

I could send it to the Office Depot next door and pay the $0.15 to get it printed there... but if I could show it from the phone instead.

Any idea? I use my phone to show coupons all the time (got an app or two, even) and never had a problem, but I never tried it a BBY.

Actually, big box retailers don't make money on a lot of items, specially some electronics.

I always love new product launches, specially the really hot ones (360, PS3, any iDevice, etc). If the customer isn't buying anything else, technically the store lost money (having the cashier attend to you, at the very least). Why do you think accessories are so overpriced?

That's a loss leader for you. And the TouchPad is (certainly) one of those.

//edit: or what 65fastback said. Didn't see that post -doh!

inclusions means "included" items. If it isnt on the inclusions list, it isnt included. The exclusions are things that would go UNDER the included list but that arent specifically included....usually do to price protection from the manufacturer.
there seem to be way too many exclusions on BB's coupons. so im standing by my original comment about them being a joke. i can't count the amount of times i wanted to use one for a new release video game, dvd or CD until i read the back and saw 'excludes new releases' or something to that effect.

How about accessories, though? I wouldn't mind getting a case -see, BBY would make money on me right there!

I tried the coupon but it didn't apply to the Touchpad. They had a printed version of the coupon since the mobile version didn't have categories listed. The printed one stated it did not apply to computers. Oh well, it was worth a try anyway.

I just went to a Best Buy in Denver (Belmar) and used the 10% code (the first one that didn't show which categories). It initially said it took it, but then didn't total out. I didn't even complain they just made it work and I got my 10% off of the 32gb model. WIth that and the Pre(-) 50 rebate I'll have a 32gb for less than a 16!

I also tried for the TouchPad but no luck. I was in a rush and didn't even look for a cover to see if the 10% applied.

Anyone knows if it applies to accessories?

Should work on accessories, but my BB did not have any accessories and only 16 and 32gb TP. They are sched to arrive next week, but I also suspect they'll be cheaper on Amazon. Sorli..

The coupon did not work for me but... After much discussion, I was able to convince them to match the Sams Club price of $578.00 so I saved a little.

I presented the coupon when purchasing the Touchpad today. I asked the manager if I could use it. He read the coupon and said I could use it. As others have stated, it didn't deduct from the total when the code was entered. The manager said he felt the coupon is misleading and authorized the 10% discount.

Get the manager to override the system. You shouldn't get much pushback, especially if you get him to read the coupon first. Hope this helps!

I tried to use it, but customer service specialist explained that phone coupons don't always contain all exclusions. Sounded like he had seen these before.

BestBuy would rather you go buy it somewhere else than make them lose $50 on an imaginary discount. Heck, if i ran a business i'd rather you go somewhere else than me take a $50 hit. Simple as that. Someone else will walk in right after you and buy it normal. There are enough people in the world not like you.

and their employees would like you to quit saving a few bucks so they can have decent paychecks. works both ways. that was most of his point.

by the time you use the 10% discount on the coupon, they pay for some employee's time at the store, pay the debit or credit card fee on your purchase, pay for shipping the item to the store, etc....they make $0 on a touchpad. so, to Mero's point....you dont stay in business not making money.
