    Hi all,

In doing a little digging I cam across this on an Italian website. The name HP Pivot is being used. Frankly the name Pivot is an odd choice unless one of the models of the TouchPad actually has something that Pivots....

The article is making the supposition that there will be a number of models in the TouchPad line..which they think would include the model code named "Opal".

I'm wondering if the word pivot is used because there will be a keyboard that pivots.

I am providing the English translation from Google Translate as well as a link to the Italian web site and the original Italian copy.

Frankly the name Pivot is an odd choice unless one of the models of the TouchPad actually has something that Pivots....

I did find the word HP Pivot on a second page at the same site, I am also suppling the translation and web page for that as well. It is below the original Italian copy of the first page and I have marked it ITEM 2:

    Take care,

    Jay

PS. I'm going to cross post this directly under future webOS models and separately under TouchPad 7' Opal ...take care, Jay

    ITEM ONE:

    Google Translate Italian to English:

Italian - detected to English translation

After the brand name "Pivot WebOS" filed by HP in early June we find today a new series of marks, because the already registered trademarks of HP this time are 6! All appear to belong to a group of devices, this time with a common feature, the touch pad:

    TouchPad7
    TouchPadGo
    TouchPadFlex
    TouchPadTwin
    TouchPadGeo
    TouchPadPro
This time the product description is much more general:
"Computers, computer hardware, computer software, computer hardware and communications network and software, computer hardware, that is, memory cards, computer hardware for telecommunications, computer monitors, laptops, PDAs, laptops , tablet PCs, personal digital assistants, electronic organizers, computer memories, telephones, cell phones, smartphones, mobile phones, laptops and handheld communication devices to send and receive data, information and other digital content, including audio and video content, that is to say, handheld computers, mobile phones and smartphones, cameras and video, audio players, video players, computers, communications software, computer software, namely, prerecorded computer programs for personal information management, software database management, character recognition software, telecommunications software, telephony management software, electronic mail and messaging, paging software, database synchronization software, computer programs for accessing, navigating and searching databases on-line programs for computer games, video game software, computer and video games download, download music, audio, video and entertainment-related content, computer carrying cases, accessories, components and cases for all of the foregoing sold as unit, instruction manuals in electronic format supplied with the previous sold as a single, apparatus for recording, transmission or reproduction of data, text, graphics, sounds or images, blank magnetic data carriers, pre-recorded recording media Magnetic equipped with software for use in connection with the portable communication devices, namely, cell phones and smartphones "

This means that these brands can be used on any electrical device, electronic software ... ..

The interesting thing is that the touchpad does not seem to be the name of a single product, but rather a line of products! It may be that the TouchPad7 the Opal which was mentioned long ago (Tablet 7 ")?

Who knows, what is certain is that we'll have to guess in the coming months ....

    ITEM 2:

Italian - detected to English translation

New trademark of HP, "WebOS Pivot" for "retail services".
    Torakiki7614 2011News June 3

We talked in the past for new HP brands, such as the famous PalmPad which has since been rejected as we all know, June 3, 2011 was filed by another interesting brand HP webOS Pivot. According to the USPTO site refers to the brand:

"Marketing Services with computer software provided over the Internet, computer systems and other electronic communications networks, services, retail with computer software for use on handheld digital electronic devices and other electronic equipment."

Could this be the new name of 'App Catalog? A new sales system applications? Or something completely different? Whatever it is we can not wait to have some more news and understand what it refers to this new brand.

Hey Jay - if you look in the article posted on the front page the other day about the new device names.... the name "Pivot" doesn't seem to be hardware. It looks to be the name of a piece of software HP trademarked.
