Guest: Hi ***... An inquiry about the possibility of purchasing a product

    ***: Hi there!

***: I appreciate your interest in HP!

***: May I know the product line that you are interested in?

    Guest: The Touchpad

Guest: Saw the email saying that the countdown has begun... just curious as to how soon that my be...

***: Yes, the "HP Touchpad" is the most awaiting model. But, unfortunately, we do not have any official information on the releasing / orderable date. However, it is been expected to be available at the end of May.

Guest: Okay, thank you very much for your help ***!

***: May I help you with anything else so that I can make sure that you are completely satisfied with the help you received from me?

Guest: Well, actually... any information about when the Pre3 phone will be released?

***: Pre3 phone may release on mid of June.

Guest: Sounds great. Thank you very much for your insight! Have a great day!

    ***: You're most welcome.

Is that mean the information witll be available at the end of May or the device will be available to purchase at the end of May? I am little confused.

    Called HP.
Said "early summer" and "no pricepoint yet available".

Edit: I still think allthingsD conf May 31-June 2 could be time for Leo to debut TouchPad. Perhaps Leo is speaking May 31.

Either that or HP Discover conf starting June 6th.

Anyway, I think technically what he said indicates the *information* will be available... Although he's prolly not a native English speaker so who knows...

Good question... I guess I was overwhelmed with excitement that I didn't consider that it may just be information that they were referring to.

this actually lines up with my conversation, when i asked about the availability of the pre3. the answer was end of may as well. assuming that both the Pre3 and the TouchPad are launched at the same time, our wait may be ending soon

    Seems to be June 13th

A lot of manufacturers are currently having a hard time meeting their target release dates. The HTC Flyer, for example, was slated for a May 8 launch here in Germany but was later postponed to "late may" and has since been moved to "tba".

Word on the street is that manufacturers have been (are still?) waiting on parts shipments from Japan that were delayed because the Japanese obviously have much bigger problems on their hands than to keep their shipping deadlines, which leads to limited or late availability.

I wonder when HP had actually planned to release Veer, Pre3 and TouchPad and how many weeks they were set back by the earthquake and tsunami tragedy... But it almost seems cynical to care one bit about delayed technology when tens of thousands of people have died and tracts of land have potentially been irradiated

I don't know anything official, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for a May release.

I have a feeling that the developer workshops in June will come before the TouchPad release date...
