The TouchPad isn't released either. Who knows, maybe HP has something up their sleeves. They generally don't even announce what their PCs are packing until you can see them on their website. And even when they do they never include everything in the announcement.

In any case, I think HP pursuing AT&T and Verizon over Sprint is the right move. HP is interested in selling a large volume of these phones and they can't do that with Sprint. In most areas, Sprint's coverage is lacking when compared with the other two.

That's not to say HP won't release on Sprint. HP is the anti-Apple; they'll sell their product anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the regional carriers with the Veer and Pre when it is all said and done. But at the same time, with both AT&T and Verizon going to LTE next year, it'd be cheaper for HP build one LTE phone that will work on both of the largest networks and not bother supporting WiMax at all.

I dunno, most ppl on sprint are there because of the lower priced plans. And as a day 1 Pre owner... it would send a clear msg they don't care. And I'd leave. And probably would think twice about buying an HP product. I understand we're a minority because plenty have fled already, but it certainly would not help their image (hey HP, I have a dozen color laser printers I'll have to replace in a few years....).

OTOH, say Sprint really couldn't give a rats *** about HP. And that's why they could not make it to Sprint. Offer those still with Pre's on Sprint a nice discount on the TouchPad. That's probably the best way to say you still want your original loyal fanbase short of paying the difference in carrier costs for two years.
