Default Remote into a Linux desktop from the TP

Consider me a complete illiterate in regards to linux (although I am in a learning curve). I am looking for a way to remote on my newly installed Ubuntu desktop.

I have the server piece on the desktop machine can either be X11, VNC or other but I can<t find the client piece for the TP... And again it might just be I am illiterate and everything is built in the TP and I have no clue on how to put it together.

If someone would kindly handhold me or show me to the proper thread I would much appreciate it.

I will follow this thread as I'm an Ubuntu-user since 2008 and Splashtop has no Linux-version

Set up a VNC server on Ububtu:

You can try to install xrdp on your ubuntu machine. This is a linux rdp server.
