Help!-Need patch for the TP so we can make our bookmark launcher icons look better

Mods...if this is in the wrong place, please move.

Can someone create a patch or something that we can use to edit our bookmark launcher web icons to make them look better?....something like in this old article. I know this was an article about doing it on the mobile phones, but can someone create a patch or instruct me on a simple way to do this without trying to create a little app (I have no programming/html/java experience). Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This would be pretty cool. Even if I could replace my bookmark with the Browser icon, that would be nice.
