Hi All,
I have started looking at installing Ubuntu on my TP (because the browser doesn't let me use essential sites - but that is another question). I decided to go down the road of manually setting the partition as described in UbuntuChroot - WebOS Internals. The issue is that I find when I do the step of /usr/sbin/f s c k.vfat /dev/mapper/store-media (That isn't quite how I type it but nanny thinks I'm using a bad word) I get a message There are differences between boot sector and its backup. Differences: (offset riginal/backup) 71:48/20, 72:50/20, 74:54/20, 75:4f/20, 76:55/20, 77:43/20, 78:48/20 , 79:50/20, 80:41/20, 81:44/20 1) Copy original to backup 2) Copy backup to original 3) No action ? I tried doing a restart but there was no change when I went through it again. I also tried selecting 1. but there was no change and the message repeated. Also, after disconnecting from the PC, I couldn't run internalz or Preware without restarting again. After the second restart I once again tried but the message is still there. So, can anyone suggest how to get round this? I'll be very grateful if you can. Doug |

similar message here, can anybody elucidate, I was following the guide http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touc...ml#post3194874 to remove ubuntu and resize the partitions and **** produced the following:
root@******HPTouchPad:/# /usr/sbin/****.vfat /dev/mapper/store-media dosfsck 2.11, 12 Mar 2005, FAT32, LFN There are differences between boot sector and its backup. Differences: (offset riginal/backup)71:48/20, 72:50/20, 74:54/20, 75:4f/20, 76:55/20, 77:43/20, 78:48/20 , 79:50/20, 80:41/20, 81:44/20 1) Copy original to backup 2) Copy backup to original 3) No action Could it be the bootsecter changed when HP updated the OS? Which option do I select? Last edited by discord; 11/26/2011 at 08:32 PM. |

I don't suppose that there was an answer to this question? I have the exact same issue ... even the numbers are the same and am wondering what to do?
