Messaging app - vibration

The messaging app is really annoying me. Whenever I receive a message, it vibrates, plays a sound, and then vibrates AGAIN. I went to preferences and set the alert setting to "system sound", not vibrate, but it still vibrates. Anyone know how to fix this? It only happens when you lock the screen, not when you're in the app.

For the record, I did install the patch to disable vibration when sending a message, which helps a lot, but this excess vibration is really annoying me.

and why does it seem to double notify? like two sounds each time? I just muted it because I hate it so much.

yeah i just ended up muting the thing. the notifications could be handy but more often than not were just annoying.
