Hello Wheel_nut!
In one of your post in other thread, you mentioned Observed Problem 1 and Solution. I used that and your powered usb and the otg cable I mentioned in my above post, and it worked right away. I have to do the charger trick only once and then everytime I connect my usb hub it was connected. My hub looks similar to your. See my setup. Thanks. |

Hi Jhussain1,
Glad that you got your OTG Host rig working. I used that setup for some time before I grew tired of the unreliability of the connection and now use the self powered Solar Hub for my needs. Well done for persevering with your efforts and I hope it works reliably for you. |

Here's a shot of my setup, using the Y cable method and a USB hub with all the slots I'd need plus 4 open USB ports (1 is occupied by the power end of the Y cable).

In fact, it was your's and another person's post ( I forgot the name ) helped a lot to debug the usb rig. Keep up the good work. |

Is something like this possible with the touchpad. With usb otg?
Get Console - iPhone iPad Serial Cables and Terminal Apps By doing something like a powered hub and a usb to rs232 cable then a rs232 to console cable? And if so is there a terminal app that would work with it also. Thanks in advance. |

Awesome! Thank you so much.
I am finding that it is very tempermental when it comes to which thumb drive will work and which won't. I've had success with both USB 1.0 and 2.0, but it refuses to read one older Kingston 1GB (which is USB 2.0). One thing I'm having trouble with is the switch syntax on the scripts. What character do you type between the "-s" and the "sda1" or the "-d" and the "usb1"? I know that it works without switches, but I'd like to be able to specify usb1 or usb2, etc. Maybe the op could be edited to show an example with switch use. Thanks again. Great work! EDIT: Found a post on page 3 about the switches ("mountusb sda1 usb1"), but I still think it would be a good idea to edit the OP to include that. Last edited by Do Not Touch; 02/11/2012 at 07:52 PM. So the adapter is here.
I pluged in a usb-Harddisk (including external power), without a hub and tried your script and the here are the results: mountsub sda1 usb1 Ready to create Destination Directory Creatin destination Directory /media/internal/usb1 Ready to mount Drive to Destination Directory Mounting Device sda1 to Destination Directory usb1 mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /media/internal/usb1 failed: No such file or directory ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Can someone please help? |

Its not working just with the cable alone, you need to power it.
Just look around in this thread for the solar powered hub. Everything for a working setup is discussed many times. |

Will this work in CM9? I like to take photos with my digital camera. It would be awesome to view them on the TP...I don't use WebOS much.

I may be wrong but I believe that the MicroUSB B Port behaves differently when running Android so will leave it to someone using CM9 to give you a difinitive answer.
However, you could always use webOS to transfer the pictures to the TouchPad and then access them with CM9. Why don't you simply view the pictures using the webOS viewer? |

Another easy integrated way to mount and umount the usb drives is under development. The developer of Commander is developing some neat way of executing scripts for mount and umount in this useful tool. Browsing the USB drive in Commander is also possible, so everything in one place which appeals to me.
More details on Commander and a picture with example scripts:: Command Library - suggest new commands |
