I received the following text message on my Pre3 from ATT yesterday. Did anyone else get this too?

    AT&T Free Msg:
Thank you for choosing AT&T! We appreciate your business.

Due to planned network upgrades your device will no longer work on the AT&T network after December 2016.

To avoid service disruption upgrade to a 3G or 4G LTE device as soon as possible.

Since the Pre3 supports HSPA+, will there really be any problems using the Pre3 with ATT after Dec 2016? Or is it a frequency band issue since I think the Pre3 only supports 850, 1900, and 2100 MHz, according to Wikipedia:

That's weird. I guess that means I can't aspire to use my Treo on the network after this year, but the 3 should be fine?

Maybe the nature of the device not being launched officially is causing some issues.

This is probably because they can't identify a Pre-3. HSPA+ is not going away anytime soon. You should be fine.

In the online account, ATT had it marked as a Pte3 in the past. Also told them it was a Pre3 on the phone in past when having a problem that ended up not being an ATT issue -- ATT found my Pre3's IMEI ID in their system, after dropping some digits from the front or back of the IMEI (I forget) since there are too many digits in it.

Well, I think the nature of device is not launched officially and that is the main reason of this type of issues.
