    My pre 3 thinks it has updated software but it doesnt and I cant figure out how to fix it. webos quickinstall doesnt recognize it at all now...

    You can completely erase the device by using the "Device Info" application, in "Reset Options" select "Full Erase". After that the device is completely cleaned up. You could go the extra mile and also run the webOS Doctor on your device to completely remove patches and anything else that may have changed.

    Given the fact that when you activate the device the builtin backup will restore some of the data, you may also want to activate with a new account or, before erasing, go to the "Backup" application ad disable and erase the backup.
