quickchat for pre 3 NOT installing!

I just bought a pre 3. Installed preware and tried to install Quickchat facebook app. But when installing it stays on the installing/downloading screen and nothing happens. Ive tried this countless times and have check around in the forums for solution but no luck. I even tried that other method of (username)@chat.facebook.com and that didnt work either. Fb chat is the only chat im remotely interested in so if anyone knows how i can get this working please let me know. My pre 3 is up to date...

I installed the patch through quick install then tried entering (myusername)@chat.fb on the google Im but my pw keeps coming up invalid. So neither way seems to be working. Not sure what else to do other than keep carrying around my WP to be able to chat with people which is a bummer.any other suggestions??

Why/How do you try to install it via Preware?
