All,
I think I bought myself some lemons, by getting VZW Pre3's and trying to get them working on GSM/UMTS here in the Netherlands Seems like the GSM/UMTS firmware is quite flaky and causes a lot of issues (I only see 1 out of 3 supported networks on the 1800Mhz band for example). I have some ideas on how to fix this using the Qualcomm tools QPST and QXDM but would need some backup files/info from people with AT&T and/or EU Pre3 with 2.2.4 webOS. The things I need are actually quite straight forward to start with, so if anyone could post the requested info following the steps below, that would be very helpful and appreciated ![]() Instructions: 1. Make sure your phone is in Devmode 2. Go to Linux Commandline (WOSQI or Novaterm would do the trick) 3. cd /usr/bin 4. PmModemUpdater -b 5. Wait for the process to finish 6. Copy the file from /var/firmware/palm_nv_backup.txt 7. PmModemInfo -e 8. Post palm_nv_backup.txt and the output of PmModemInfo -e here (You can actually leave out your IMEI and MEID from the PmModemInfo since I don't need those )Thanks in advance! Know this is a bit late, but saw no one answered. If you still want it...
From PmModemUpdater -b... (done in XTerm, so don't have exact copy...) Code:
HW_VERSION = 2057A000 MOB_MODEL = fc5 EX_BUILD_ID = MU2.0.40(3004) RADIO TYPE = UMTS HW EXT ID = PVT HW RADIO TYPE = UMTS HW VAR = NA Firmware version from Modem is 3004... Disable memory protect ERROR:disable memory protect failed, Inappropriate ioctl for device No palm_nv_item.txt file in tar file Modem is in Digital Offline mode... Start reading NV item from modem (0 to 7200,8000 to 9250).....9250 Done! 2390 NV items have been saved to [blahblah] Your device is ready to use Code:
MODEM MODEL=UMTS FW VERSION=MU2.0.30(2004) HW EXT ID=UNKNOWN HW RADIO TYPE=UMTS HW VAR=NA IMEI = :-P |

Hi Herrie,
Just curious... Does data work for the GSM part? Which network, GSM, UMTS, HSDPA? Is the CDMA sim removeable / changeable? I didn't see this post, if you need anything, drop me an pn. I have the US Pre3 with EU firmware (wanted the 16gb) |
