I think it's only UK Pre3s that they cover, and only under warranty (as mine is for about another week!)
The repairs are handled by a company called SBE ltd. but you have to contact HP first on 020 7660 0950 to get an SRO number. After that you package up the phone without battery, back cover etc. and send it to SBE, where they will repair it and send it back to you.

Or if you're me, they'll claim to have repaired it but manage to not fix anything! So I emailed a few contacts at SBE repeatedly until they promised to send a courier to collect it free from me and then repair it again, properly this time. They did a good job second time around and the paperwork said "New Mainboard", so there was clearly a bit of faulty hardware somewhere.

Mine disappeared. Sad to say that I'm using an SGS3 now but I still come back to these forums to check up on news regarding my now "backup" veer and pre3

Mine came off a month or 2 ago. I've gotten a new pre3 since then (after smashing the screen - parts anyone?). Would have used the back from the new pre3, but looks like it had some sort of sticky pad on the back.

Just take the rest of the chrome out. It will scratch anyway. You won't regret it.

Totally agree. Heat it up a bit by keeping it on the touchstone for a while and pry it off with a fingernail. Looks awesome afterwards!

Anyhow, the HP logo is much uglier than the Palm logo, and so it makes sense that the physical quality is bad.

voted yes, but using my Pre3 only as spare device cause the EU 8GB/500MB Pre3 is crippled compared to Pre2 (which also still has it's palm logo). Hope both will last a bit, btw. are there spareparts for Pre's available on some HK websites?

I finally pulled mine off, was looking at it one day and decided to attempt to get my nail under there, came right off.

Mine's still there after well over a year of daily use, no sign of movement at all.

On mine the P rectangle/rhombus/parallelogram seems to be set slightly deeper than the other chrome parts. It shows no sign of scratching despite the rest of the chrome being seriously scratched.

Just got my Pre 3 going, but can say I've lost letters off of my Pre 2 back plate several times now. Glued them back on a couple times, but usually just pick up a spare cover when I see one for a couple bucks.

To be fair, I have the habit of twirling my phone spin-the-bottle style when it's sitting on the table in front of me.
