    Hello,

Having just read an article about saving batery power by switching down to 2g instead of 3g
I was wondering if it is possible with the Pre3?

I usually just use email and so 3g speed is not required.

If its not possible as default is there a utility that will enable me to do this?

I am in the uk and we dont have 4g here.

yh, I am using "advanced system menus - device menu" and there is a "network" setting that allows you to switch

or use preware and install the patch to toggle between 2 and 3g easily on the top right area

This is the fastest way to change it, I use it too.

(Otherwise, Mode Switcher is a very good tool as well.)

sorry for forgetting to mention that you first need to install the advanced systems menu - framework patch (or something to that effect, it says in the patch description)

Tried to install the Advanced System Menu - device today - fails to install I suspect SysToolsMgr Services dependency is no longer available.

in USA ATT unlocked pre3 US version ...turned to 2g & no service ...3g works because I have an ATT microcell ...what would be the benefit to me of setting to 3g (which I guess eliminates the 4g choice ...this phone does not have LTE) ...would there be any gain to that?
