The app itself knows it is connected to the Internet because, without entering anything, if you disconnect from the wifi an error message pops up saying that you are not connected and the error message promptly disappears when you reconnect the wifi. The issue is that when you log in it somehow forgets that you're connected!

ok, I took a little look at this... I honestly know next to nothing about programming any more, somehow I lost interest in it in my teens (and that was a LONG time ago). However, I can read, so here goes:

    In the main javascript file (main.jsjsjs), $I$ $found$ $two$ $places$ $where$ $this$.$onInternet$ $could$ $be$ $set$ $to$ '$false$' $and$ $changed$ $those$ $instances$ $to$ '$true$'; $my$ $logic$ $was$ $that$ $if$ $some$ $call$ $was$ $failing$ $causing$ $that$ $variable$ $to$ $be$ $set$ '$false$' $incorrectly$, $just$ $setting$ $it$ $to$ '$true$' $instead$ $might$ $help$ ($at$ $the$ $expense$ $of$ $course$ $of$ $the$ $app$ $not$ $knowing$ $if$ $it$ $truly$ $was$ $not$ $connected$ $to$ $the$ $internet$). $This$ $did$ $not$ $help$.

So I looked a little more, a found what happens when you click "Register" on the opening screen. It calls a local function "registerDevice" which in turn makes a call to an external function "RegisterDevice" in a plugin called "kcfPlugin"; I interperet this plugin to be the file "plugin_kcf" which looks like a binary. End of exploration.

The problem (I believe) is Enyo webview.. The pre 3 doesn't support it, now while I understand that there is no webview being used, however, since its checking registration based on Enyo webview yada yada yada...

There's a folder in /media/internal called .palmKindle that stores all of your downloaded books data. I have 3 Kindle books on my TouchPad and that folder is around 3.5 megs. In theory if we copy that folder over to Pre3 and then can copy whatever database files elsewhere on the device that have the info we've setup on TouchPad, would seem it would view our current books just fine. I'm willing to test this but just don't know what other location the kindle app stores its database info.

So, is this something that could possibly be worked around with some patching/code-tweaking, or is it a lost cause for the Pre3?

I think its a lost cause until the Enyo webview is enabled in the pre3

I don't understand! Can you show exactly how can I do to pass the registration? Thank you

Because I think the Enyo can't work in Pre3, isn't it?

    Hi all,

I did a little bit of debugging. The error message is misleading. The kindle app has a PDK plugin and a Enyo part.
There seems to be a setting in the PDK that you can bind it to a device type. The PDK will not run on the wrong device type, but the errror is reported as network Problems to the User.

    Code:

It could work if someone disable that check in the compiled plugin. It is the file plugin_kcf in the app directory.

    Is this feasible?
