    Device kernel is not in factory condition, refusing to install replacement
    Try installing the palm default kernel first. It looks like whoever had it first left a different kernel on it.

    There's a thought. It was supposed to be new....

    I'll try and let you know.

    edit - yes, that's sorted it.

    I wonder what was installed before.
