    Hi folks! there is a biiiig problem with my Pre 3 T_T:

    The pre 3 was an at&t one and its serial number is W3BD1XXXXXXX. The original webos is 2.2.0, after one day use, i select the Secure Full Erase button, tried to clear my phone and update to the 2.2.3. However, after the erase process, my phone restarted and frozen in a language selecting panel.

    So I downloaded the webosdoctor from the Main Page - WebOS Internals according to my phone SN, the file I downloaded is "webosdoctorp223mantaatt.jar",which I think is a right one to my phone.

    The following actions were:

    1, Turn Pre 3 off;
    2, Turn on the webos doctor on PC(win XP);
    3, Press the "volume-up"-key and hold it pressed;
    4, Insert other end of usb-power-cable into PC;
    5, A USB icon was appeared on the smartphone screen;
    6, Release "volume up";
    7, The NEXT button of the webos doctor on pc screen was lighted up;
    8, Then there was a downloading symbol and the process is 1%, it said: "don't disconnect your device".
    9, And after a few seconds, there was an error that" we were unable to reset your device".

    10, Oh My God! Help.

    Online waiting for solution.

    You might want to look at webOS Internals Wiki page:
    How To Recover - WebOS Internals

    There are some instructions about how to Doctor your phone and deal with some problems with Doctoring.

    I hope that will help you solve your issue.
    I wasn't struggling with any problems when Doctoring my phone (Pre- years ago)so I'm not a specialist. So I think I can't help you with it.

    Maybe you will find the solution in the wiki.

    Your positive your phone is an AT&T device and not a European Pre3? If it's Euro, I don't think you can just grab the AT&T 2.2.3 doctor and use it as is. You might have to Meta-Doctor it to make it skip some device checks. Might be the same for Verizon devices.

    Use the proper 2.2.0 doctor to get your Pre3 working again, then investigate upgrading it to 2.2.3.

    Palm lineage:
    PalmPilot Pro -> PalmPilot Pro w/ 2MB OS 3 upgrade -> Handspring Visor Deluxe -> Handspring Visor Prism -> Handspring Visor Prism w/ VisorPhone -> ... (the long hiatus) ... -> HP TouchPad & HP Pre 3 (AT&T)

    Thanks, I can sure my phone is an at&t device, there is a big logo on its back and the Serial Number comfirms it.

    I even tried the 2.2.0 doctor to reset it but failed again.
    I'm in China, it's my only smartphone both that can make a call in US and CHN. The former one was broken...

    Regards.
