Default Patch preferences maintain after doctoring

Hey all,

Still messing around and I messed up stuff again somehow on my Pre3. I ran the webos doctor. Before that I had done a full wipe. Upon installing my patches I noticed all my preferences were the same. What I had set to yes/no, min-max brightness settings on keyboard. I doctored because HP Maps was somehow very choppy and didn't zoom or pan smoothly. I can remember it being very fluid. I have also installed Google Maps, which works great.

So 2 questions basically. I would like to start from scratch. Do I have to remove some files or directories not touched my a full erase or doctor?
And does anyone have any problems with bing maps?

Or does this have something to do with the Backup app? I wouldn't think so, but still.

Thanks in advance.
