    Take it slower.

    You have an AT&T Pre3?
Are you in an area with good reception and actual AT&T network access?
I assume you mean it shuts down - if so what if any messages do you see when this happens or does it only happen when the screen is dark (idle)?

Yes, Shuts down, sorry for typo.

I'm using ATT and I have at least 3 bars on +H, so good coverage,

and yes it happens only when screen is black(idle)

Try the options I suggested - no data - but not airplane mode (first); then full airplane mode. See what happens and report back.

EDIT - when it is black(idle) how do you know it's shut down? Do you plug in a charger or ? If you plug in the charger / touchstone - do you see the charging indicator or does it immediately reboot?

This happened to me one day after I recieved it (did a complete shut down, and wouldnt even restart); I doctored it with the ATT Pre 3 doctor that was posted last week, and its been smooth sailing after that.

I had the same problem on a Pre2. I disabled the backup and restart the device. After that I activated the backup again and waits until the backup process has finished. Since this workarround I had no more problems (and the backup was much quicker than before).

Try turning on bluetooth and leave it on permanently, let us now if it helps. Helped me in comparable case, Involving shut downs.
