So I love the Pre3 but having already had a Pre Plus and Pre2 I found a few things lacking software wise. Never mind the fact that it doesn't sit well on a touchstone or that there are no spare batteries yet. These are things that can actually come to be.

    Here is a list.

    Patches
    - Uberkernel - now available!
    - Advanced System Behavior - now available!
    - Flashlight - now working!
    - Show WiFi SSID
    - Close slider to end calls except headset or bluetooth or speaker
    - No auto refresh web pages after idle
    - Character/ Text Counter for sms
    - Slider blocks orientation change in web browser
    - Change number of bookmarks to 99
    - Larger Videos Via Email

    Apps
    - NDrive
    - Weather Icon
    - Google Maps (latitude)
    - Wells Fargo
    - LED Torch (now works!)
    - Cloud Hopper (doesn't work)
    - Backgrounds (doesn't work)

Will update every time as I do a facepalm when I realize what else I don't have and can't get.

In fact there is Uberkernel available in Preware (for webOS build .3171).
    I'm missing:

    1. Turn by turn navigation app (offline). Navit works suprisingly well as for freeware, but NDrive or Navigon would be great alternative where there's no any so far. Worldwide map handling (possibility to download/purchase/load maps for every country/region)is a must.

    2. Documents (.doc, .docx, .xls, .ppt)editing app/suite. Picsel SmartOffice was planned, but I don't know what status it has right now. What about QuickOffice?

    3. Text editor. Tamoggemon Text Editor doesn't work for me. There is PreText though. Encoding would be great (can't save with diacritical marks in file name -> underline instead). Icons corresponding to webOS are my fantasy. Save as .txt is a must.

    4. Flashlight woud be usseful. Jason pointed that Pre3 has another LED management than Pre-, Pre+ and Pre2. He is investigating it to make LED Torch work on Pre3.
!!!SOLVED!!! Update to SysToolsMng and LED Torch (made by Jason)solved the issue! !!!SOLVED!!! THX Jason!

    5. Character Counter was excelent patch. I miss it too.
    !SOLVED! Now works!

    6. Google Maps would be great.
    !Can be done!

    7. Synergy Plugins doesn't work on Pre3 (I havn't tried it, but there is an issue that prevents from adding an account). NuttyBunny is investigating it. Gtalk and Skype integration is great (I havn't tried yet, but I assume it works. I see my online/offline buddy - so far so good). Gadu-Gadu is what I'm waiting for.

    8. Bluetooth file sharing would make life easier. Is it possible?

    8 (eight)apps/pluggins/patches and I'm fully satisfied (in case I didn't forget enything ).
8 things and I can forget buying anather phone.
8 things and I can forget I sold my android phone.

    Regards,

Regarding two points there is a solution:

    3. Texteditor: Internalz Pro has a texteditor built in!!
    6. There is a description in this forum for obtaining GoogleMaps. I have it working alongside Bing Maps on my Pre3.

    Regards Ralf

I just use noted beta for taking notes. Works great. Needs a bit of optimization for the pre3. I've been burned too many times by evernote. Noted beta even lets you swipe the card away and doesn't lose your note or changes.

I tried the silence missing resource handlers patch but it doesn't allow latitude to work for me. Could you please share a link for the alternative?

I know google maps can work because Trapster is powered by google maps and it works (save for not being centered but it does work)

    Thanks for pointing this up.

    3. - there is but can't make a new text file. It can open/edit/save only. I need something that gives possibility to create new .txt/edit/save as .txt/export to something readable.
Noted! beta do a synch, but no local save (or am I wrong about this?).

What makes you think that Internalz can't make a new text file?
I just tried - no problem.
Go to the directory you want to create the new file in - select "Create File" from App menu - voila - new file has been created. I opened it, put in some text, back-gestured out of it - file got saved.

    Works fine.

    Hi,
InterfaceLift is available, but it works not correctly. The wallpapers are to small for the screen.

Interfacelift works ok, if you go into the photo app then choose the downloaded interfacelift wallpaper and set it to wallpaper from there it sets as fullscreen.

I've updated my post 'couse some (2 things)has changed.
    Larger videos would be great.

    OT (a little bit):
Text editor (plain text)is what ****ing me off.
There is several I can choose BUT:
there is no way (I can't find the way)to force (!)any of these to use custom/special characters.

I've tried Internalz (build-in text editor), PreText, Noted! (Beta), ClassicNote but all of them uses stock charakter table (I've changed alternatechars_table.json file for System-wide custom/special characters).

Two apps that I use a lot that are not in the app catalog are:

    - Noted!
which the dev mentioned they did submit to the App catalog, but HP never approved it.

    - Fliq Tasks
for some reason, Mark/Space removed the apps from the App catalog when they discontinued The Missing Sync. They have said they are going to resubmit them, but so far only the Missing Sync app is out there (which doesn't work with the Pre 3).

    - Fliq Notes
same as above for Fliq Tasks

    - Spotify
would love to use some of this 2gb AT&T data I get every month to listen to music. Pandora works, so there's that. But Spotify would be nice to have out there.
