Is there going to be any release of a patch for pre 3 devices so the PDF view supports landscape viewing?

I see that this issue was raised for earlier models of the Pre, PDF Redux and Enable Pdfview Landscape, but these are not avaialbe on QI or Preware.

I would really like to use my phone to read PDF's but without landscape mode it is very difficult.

The Pre3 does not have webOS 3 If you are referring to the Touchpad, you have posted in the wrong section.

I have pdf redux on Pre running 2.1 Does not work in landscape mode. But I could swear I was able to view pdf in landscape at one time in the past.

Anyway I don't understand how palm did not include pdf landscape whent pdf is such a popular format for sharing documents

Picsel Office requires WebOS 3.0 or later; Pre 3 is on 2.2.4.

Yup yup. Picsel Office ftw. Much better PDF browsing, and Office docs too, for that matter. If only we could make it the default app...

A cursory search seems to say there are ways to make non-PDK apps the default. Picsel looks to be PDK'd though, yes? So maybe not. And would need to know the syntax for Picsel to pass the file that needs opening, though that may be trivial.

*hopes someone will prove him wrong*

Man, that would be fantastic. Quick Office/PDF Viewer pale in comparison. Hate watching Email try in vain to open everything with builtin apps just so I can go back and reopen it in Picsel.

Edit: Curses. From the canuck himself: [patch request] make picsel smart office default program

Has anyone taken a look at the javascript PDF viewer that was developed for Firefox? I wonder if that could be the basis for a WebOS PDF reader application. The online demo at the link below comes pretty close to working in my Veer's browser.

Looks promising. Not sure to what extend the current (legacy) webOS browser would support it, but this could be a very interesting "app" to port to our beloved platform

Tried in on my TP with stock browser. It seems to work OK-ish to a certain extend (surely offers possibilities I would say). App loads, PDF gets loaded, just the rendering of the PDF is crap and not useful/working properly at all. I do get some characters on screen, but it's really crappy.

Can anyone try with Open webOS Isis browser to see how it works there?
