Verizon Pre 3

Anyone else still hoping to get their hands on one, or am I alone in this longing? :/

Although not as many as the GSM version for AT&T, there's supposedly a bunch of these also sitting inside a wherehouse in Indianapolis gathering dust. Difference is, whilst the GSM models could be brought to market quickly ie powered up and used on the network with no additional carrier involvement, bringing the Verizon CDMA devices to market will require their ESN's be added to the carrier's internal db first.

Not likely you'll see this happen so don't be holding your breath.

Hope is the only reason I don't waste a contract renewal on a Pre 2 right now. That and I was able to upgrade my Pre+ to 2.1 while I was in the lower 48 last month. >.>

I dont think its going to happen, verizon unloading the touchstone for 5.00 is a sign they just want to unload anything left HPalm related.

Not so much. They've been unloading them at the price a while which means they probably have a lot. Plus the Pre 3 was supposed to interact with those new touchstones that were supposed to show up there were location aware. They'd been trying to clear out the Palm touchstones for half a year already.

I switched to Verizon and got a Droid X2 on the day unlimited data was killed, with the intent to sell the Droid (I figured it would be the phone in Vzw's lineup with the highest resale value a few months later, otherwise I would have Pre 2'ed at the time) and buy a Pre3 upon launch. I have since acquired a Pre2, but I'm really longing for a bigger and higher resolution screen. I'm more than willing to pay top dollar for one...
