My Pre 3 is due to arrive tomorrow and I've never used webOS before (currently on iOS and Android). Basically, what apps are must haves for webOS? I want a good twitter app and other than that I'm open to anything.

good twitter app: Spaz (it's the best trust me, I just love it)

Tweet Me is also nice but it cost and it doesn't have that much functions.

if you are into Google Reader: Feeds free

for weather: AccuWeather and WeatherNow for weather on your "desktop"

    for videos: KalemSoft Media Player

    photography: Molo Photo Filters Pro

    and yes of course Preware

    TextOne for free sms

    Games: woodenigma

    other apps: PowerNap, Record It

    just my faves

    my recommendations:

twitter: "Carbon"- hands down (not free)
weather: "ReWeather"- simple, pretty, does the job, (free)
bicycle hire: "Bike Sharing"- if your city has something like the Boris/Barclay Bikes in London, this is handy. Supports many cities. (not free)
study: "FlashCards"- you can download content for free from the internet, for eg i study arabic and i have vocab flashcards for this app, very handy (not free)
podcasts: "drPodder"- does the job, i have a few gripes with it but it seems to be the only/best one available (free i think? can't remember)
games: "the helicopter game"- you need nothing else note that i'm not much of a gamer though (free)
timer: "Timer Classic"- a basic egg-timer type app (free)
running: "SmartRunner" was my app of choice from my old Pre+, but it doesn't work for the Pre3. Wait for it to come out and in the meantime use "FitTrack Trial" (30 day trial).

Preware is _absolutely essential_. spend the time learning what it is and how to use it.

I'm really missing a good notes app. there are some okay ones but i miss "Notes" from the Pre-/+/2. for some reason it doesn't work.

Thanks for the help guys. I've installed a variety of the apps mentioned and I'm reading up on Preware now. I like the apps I've downloaded so far and I'm frankly surprised by what's available. It was made out to me like the App Catalog was a baron wasteland.
