OK, this finally is confirmation. Had confirmation my order has been shipped.

Big Thanks to redmist. I ordered with Box.co.uk and receieving tomorrow. Cancelled my previous pre order with palm euro by sending email.

So I e-mailed Play.com to see if they had any updates on when they would get stock in. They said:

Seems that they didn't even bothering checking with their wholesaler so I cancelled my order with them and ordered through box.co.uk instead. I probably missed the cutoff for next day delivery though .

Also ordered a skinomi screen protector off ebay

Aren't Play based in Jersey or Guernsey, anyhoo to get around that CD VAT loophole? I suspect that would add time and complexity to the process of getting stock over, and then back again.

Just had a further e-mail from box.co.uk. My order has dispatched even though I ordered after the 4pm cutoff it says on their website

As I understand it only certain items are actually shipped from Jersey. Their previous estimated dates were identical to Clove and others. If this was the case though, it wouldn't hurt for them to have said so in the e-mail

Gorilla glass can apparently still be scratched especially if you keep your phone in the same pocket as your keys (I often do). I did a search here and found that Skinomi seems to be the best brand.

There isn't a reseller currently selling them in the UK. You can order from their official site but I found a reseller on ebay still in the US but worked out cheaper overall (~£6).

This is my first touchscreen phone so given the cost of the phone I figured it was worth getting .

OT: I'd get one. I nicked my screen on my veer (gorilla glass) before I decided to put a screen protector on. Good peace of mind
