Anyone remember - when was the last carrier launch of a WebOS phone in the UK? Was it the Pre Plus back in 2010?

You might be right. I didn't know the Pre + even made it to the UK, I thought O2 had bailed out before it actually got released.

Pre 2 and veer certainly didn't make it on carrier. Veer hasn't made it at all for that matter contract or sim only. I didn't even know there WAS at pre 2 until I saw an article about the Pre3

This is why I'm wondering about carrier launches even existing - they all know roughly how each other are doing - even with point of sale promotion and TV adverts, O2 couldn't even give away the pre - so I'm wondering how much interest there will be.

I didn't even know there WAS at pre 2
The UK 'Launch' consisted of it appearing one day on the HP website - no surprise that you never heard of it!

According to Pocket Lint Orange have told them that

"We are not ranging the Pre 3 in our direct channels"
So sounds like Orange may not be selling it directly which is a bit of a blow.

299 Sterling on the UK site or 349 Euros on the Spain site...so basically $500 USD off-contract.

My guess is the Pre 3 comes off-contract for $350 USD

    (I hope)

Oh and tax here is by state and mine is 6.5%

    No really, I'm not gloating.

Looks like we're paying about 67-70% of Europe so 200-210 Sterling or $350 USD...

    I want one.

Maybe so, but HP hates the USA and loves Europe so

Well in UK, if you earn a living and pay tax, and spend some of what's left on a car, and then pay Value Added Tax on that, and then buy some Road Fund License Tax to put the car on road, and then pay Fuel Duty Tax on the fuel, and Value Added Tax on that Fuel Duty Tax, you still need to pay 25 - TAX - to drive into the centre of the Capital.
