lol, well I really thought a long time about if I should post this info or not, but what the Heck. Also I posted most of what I got, there was a little more not to be posted, but that is the general picture relayed to me. This source is a good guy I trust and has lots of contacts in the Industry. I did not ask who he talked to, so no confirmation, he laid the off the record rumors in a piece meal puzzle type format.

My take after talking to him is HP will most likely not make a WiMax Pre3, so either Sprint takes the Pre3 as it is or no Pre3 on Sprint I do not know if this has been decided or not yet. The other big thing is if you are on AT&T in the future You will have plenty of HP options. He kept telling me to switch to AT&T they will most certantly have all HP Mobile devices going forward.

Just emailed the whole list, got emailed responses back from Dan and Bob, then a phone call from a rep on behalf of all the executives. Didn't say much, but was very nice and seemed to say that while we was working remotely today, when he got back to the office on Tuesday he'd see if there was any new information and give me a call back.

    Here's my message:

    Dear Mr. Hesse et al,

My name is Aaron xxxxxxx (acc #xxxxxxxxx) and I have been a loyal Sprint customer for 9 years (with a brief hiatus while I was out of the country). I am also an avid supporter of WebOS as well as the Pre line of phones. I am a first day original Pre owner and have been exceedingly happen with the phone. I find WebOS to be superior to every other OS I've gotten my hands on, including Android, iOS, the Windows 7 phones, etc for a variety of reasons. I'm emailing you today to urge you to bring the new HP Pre 3 to Sprint. I know I'm not the only one, I'm aware you've been getting floods of emails and calls over the last few months and probably especially now that it's getting down to the wire.

It seems to me that Sprint would be entirely remiss in missing out on the opportunity to bring the HP Touchpad/Pre 3 Touch to Share platform to its collection. They're made to work together, and WebOS users are very loyal and more likely to buy the combo than most other OS users. Which means you're looking at huge profit margins when bringing both items to the table. I also know quite a few Sprint users (including myself) who have strongly been considering leaving Sprint to follow WebOS wherever it lands. Still others have switched to other phones but would switch back if the Pre 3 was released.

I know right now the market is being flooded with this 3D nonsense, but let me just say that this is a fad. Any serious smartphone user knows this and will more than likely steer clear. The HP Pre 3 is the perfect combination for serious users, corporate users and the casual user who just needs something that's incredibly intuitive.

In closing, I want to once again encourage you strongly to keep WebOS on the table, and to bring the HP Pre 3 and Touchpad to Sprint. With the right marketing, this could be a huge boon for the Sprint network.

Thank you for your time, if you'd like to contact me, feel free to send an email or call me at the number listed below.

I do not recall seeing anywhere that, aside from the code of the first Pre3 webpage, specifically mentioned AT&T and Verizon. The speculation regarding the FCC documents had to do with the identification number, but where was it shown that the one or two letters offered as proof of being a Verizon specific product were genuine proof?

I love physical keyboards... but there is two devices that would make me consider a slab, one is something running a full version of Open webOS. The other is an iPhone!!!! HA HA just kidding (about the iPhone that is)...

    Here's what I wrote:

Hello. I am writing in regards to the HP Pre 3.

I have been a loyal Sprint customer for over ten years now, and I bought
the original Palm Pre when it came out in 2009. I absolutely love WebOS,
and I can't see myself using anything else. That is why I am very
interested in whether or not Sprint will be offering the new HP Pre 3. I
would appreciate any information you can give me on this.

Please make a Sprint HP Pre 3 a reality!

    A loyal customer,

Hello. Are there any plans to get the HP Pre3 on Sprint? I'm eligible
for an upgrade, and don't know if I should hold off or use it towards
the Pixi (I lost my original Palm Pre).

I also received a similar callback yesterday from Kendra and she said the typical stuff that everyone else has posted. She did say she has been at Sprint 11 years is this is the most vocal the customer base has been for a new product. I replied with even the iphone? Her reply was "very much so".

I also received a call yesterday from Joan. Come on Sprint, on a Holiday?

The lady was very nice and all, but I think it's all lip service. String along customers as long as possible to make money before they leave. You can't really blame them, that's what business is about, making money.

They really don't care about providing quality phones. They don't really care about coverage in non-metropolitan areas or outside of travel corridors. They don't care about charging you for 4G when there's only 1 town in the entire state that has it.

2 bars, texts come through, calls come through but drop after 5 seconds when I'm sitting in a chair not moving. Really? We can put man on the moon and you can't pull off a simple radio connection? You can't get coverage 3 miles outside of town? Fail. Fail. Fail.

Hey Sprint, I tell everyone I meet to avoid you like the plague, you've made your choice, I'll make mine by going elsewhere. I have 5 Sprint lines, soon to be none.

I got the same email and a voicemail. I'm not going to bother calling back or replying. That poor chile probably never wants to hear the name Palm, HP or webOS ever again.

Here is the email I sent:

    Dear Mr. Hesse,

I am a 10 year sprint customer and have been using palm products since
the launch of the Treo 755 on your network. I am very impressed with
their products and have come to rely on their integration in my daily
life, but I have concerns regarding the rumors that you will not be
carrying the newer webOS phones upon their release. I have not updated
my phone, even though I became eligible for an upgrade over a year ago
because there were not any webOS phones on your network to purchase. I
am currently keeping my phones out of contract in case the rumors are
true, so that I can freely change carriers to get the hardware I wish to
use. I have no desire to leave Sprint, but please realize that your
plans are no longer always the most cost effective available, so it is
no longer a major hardship to port to another carrier. Family plans
start out at 1500 minutes while the two lines on my account barely use
300-400 minutes per month, and with the addition of the $10 premium
charges, I can get a similar plan, even if it does have less minutes,
for a comparable price, if not less.

I've read many theories on Sprints reluctance to carry the Pre 3, from
poor Pre sales and hardware, high returns and other issues. These are
valid concerns though the reviews I've read for the Pre 3 state that all
previous hardware issues have been addressed. My pre didn't have
problems until after the first year, and though I have had a two
replacements, I'm very satisfied with the product. Is there a way to
give webOS users what they want, while also not requiring Sprint to
support the phone? Can HP/Palm be given permission to sell the phones
directly? Can Sprint do online pre orders only so that Sprint only
orders merchandise guaranteed to sell? I understand that there are not
many webOS users left on Sprint, as many have gone on to new hardware or
switched carriers, but I am hoping that even our small numbers still
have a voice that matter. I have invested time and money in this
platform and wish to see it succeed. My phone is currently functioning
well, but I cannot take advantage of newer apps because they require
webOS 2.1 or higher. I have never written to a company to advocate on
behalf of a product, so please understand this is VERY important to me.

    Thank you for your time,

    Name and Sprint TN
