I recently came across a review on "that other board" stating that most righties use their left hand to operate the Treo. That surprised me since I'm a leftie who mostly uses my right hand and assumed (until now) that I was an exception. Simple question as long as you keep your mind out of the gutter.

I think I use my left hand in case I need to write something with the stylus using my right hand.

I use either depending on which hand is free.

Yeah, I think my "off-handedness" is a carryover from older PDAs, where everything required use of the stylus.

    Hey KV:

I am also a southpaw but I wasn't sure if you were referring to one-handed TREO use...

I hold the TREO in my right hand for all one handed operations and use the stylus with my left hand.

Yeah, I guess I could have made it clearer. It was late when I set this up. I meant to refer to one-handed operations.

I use which ever hand is convenient to what I'm doing at the moment. If I'm smoking a cigar or writing, I use my left hand, if I'm driving I use my right hand. If I'm watching porn, it's always in my left hand. I always have it to my left ear when talking on it. By the way, I'm right handed.

    Ditto

A righty that uses my Treo with the left hand. An obvious carry over from my PDA only days. However -- now -- this still leaves my right hand free to write something down or key some info into the PC or a landline.

    Cheers, Perry.

I'm a young'in, so I have no experiance as a right handed user holding the PDA in the left hand and holding the stylus in the right.

Its really funny that that carried over for you older folks

I'm a leftie and I usually hold the Treo in my right hand. Almost exclusively use my right ear when I'm not using ear buds.

I too have thought of 'handedness' when using everything from vending machines to telephones. I think dexterity is equivalent from the wrist down to the fingertips so holding the Treo in my right hand in case I need to use the stylus is a good explanation why I hold it the way I do and have done since my first PDA – a Visor Deluxe.

I WAS miffed when the Treo 300 came out and the rocker switch was on the left side of the device, as I am with the volume buttons on the left side of the 650 but I guess they had to go somewhere. Just try and buy an ergonomic multi-button left handed mouse these days. ARGH !!
The Borg will trace their ancestry to the Treo180.
