    what is does is have those icons there, and when u move/selevct an icon the icon disappears and reads the name..

    I load the theme but the background image isn't being read by zlauncher. i'm confused....

    put the image on ur SD card. then with ur slylis click and hold the file name for the image and select backimage

    its the easiest way i know how to do it.

    Do you have to have zlauncher to use pictures for the backgrounds? Also, can you create "themes" from within zlauncher, or are they created outside of the Treo (on your PC) and then transferred to the Treo?

    There are other launchers that allow background images, but you do need one of them.

    Themes are created outside (on a PC) and then installed and configured on the Treo. There is a theme designer kit for zlauncher as well as many, many themes people have created, some free, some for a few dollars.
