OK, now I feel dumb. I cannot use a NUMBER for a quick key. When I get to the screen that has the Quick Key field, I cannot assign a NUMBER, only a letter. I used the "option" key but that doesn't do it. What am I missing?

There are no separate "number" keys. The "R" key is also the "2" key, the "F" key is the same as the "5" key.

In other words, whether you call the key "F" or "5", it really doesn't matter - it's the same physical object.

That's hard-coded; if you try, you'll see that you're unable to edit that Favorite.

Oh wait, oops...I see...if I pick the "r", it will end up resolving to a 2. I'll try it...which I should have done before bothering you again. :-) Thanks.

nope, can't get a 2 to show up for the shortcut key...it appears as an "R". Either I am clueless, or that's a stupid way Palm has set it up....don't answer that. :-)

I don't mean shortcut key, I mean the "Favorites" on the dial pad. I want a "2", not an "R" to appear on the favorites button.

Hey, anyone there? Still waiting for an answer. On my Phone Keypad screen, I want to see a Favorite button with a NUMBER for a quick key, NOT a LETTER. I cannot seem to make this work. ANYONE????

You can't do it and still have the Favorite work. If you copy the number, "4" from a memo, you can paste it as the key in the Favorite, but you won't be able to initiate the Favorite using that key.

are you telling me that if i want to speed dial using my Favorites, I have to look at a bunch of Favorite Buttons with LETTERS on them instead of NUMBERS? That stinks.

You'll get used to it. Whether the key you hold to launch a Favorite is called T or 3, in the end doesn't matter - it's the same key.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. But if you cannot use numbers, I wonder why in the heck the Treo 650 user guide has this paragraph (below):

"Quick Keys are optional and can be letters or numbers[I][U], but you can't use both the letter and number for the same key. For example, the voicemail Quick Key is 1. The letter equivalent for that key is E, so you cannot assign E as a Quick Key to another favorite button."

Yeah, I guess so. Hey Bill, can the Favorites be RE-ORDERED on each of the indiviual 5 pages, or if I want to re-order
  15.    #15
oops, hit enter accidentally. anyway, do I have to RE-ASSIGN the favorites button to get the order I want, or can I re-order EXISTING favorites. Thanks

Choose Edit Favorites Pages from the menu - then just drag & drop.
