Bout time. Maybe this will "encourage" them to produce a non-beta product.

EDIT: I moved the post here b/c it primarily pertains to the 650.

    Hey.....

Here's one they forgot to list....the signal disappearing while inside a metal building. Palm should have had the foresight and intuitivness to wrap my phone in a cloaking devise to protect it from the ravages of a signal eating building.

Well, I bought mine in San Diego, a nice republican town, not in the Los Angeles area. That's why mine works fine. Although, when I drop my Treo, I drop it in such a way as to not alow the screen to break. Also, when I feel the need to stick my finger in an electrical outlet, I put the Treo approximately 2.3 feet north of me to eleminate the possibility of an electrical surge that would disrupt the phones internal compass.

When they said it did not meet the specifications is that including the wifi also? I only saw bluetooth mentioned when I skimmed the article and I thought someone said they had a box from sprint that said it included wifi, but it didnt. Maybe it was blue tooth.

I thought that when I first saw it, but he's not listed as a Plaintiff.

Yeah, just saw it. I don't have Adobe installed on my PC...had to d/l Foxit PDF reader to see the .pdf file. I guess it pertains to both the 600 and 650, so I should have left it in the Treo General forum. Oh well.

I thought this was an issue with the treo being advertised as working with Palms own sd wifi card. (I think...its been a year or so.)

Most class actions are a rip-off for the consumer, only the lawyers truly profit.

It's a long shot at best. I've never worked the plaintiff's side of a class action, but paragraph 3 of the Overview tips their hand - it's way over the top when it claims they are "inherently defective." Too many users have had a reasonably satisfactory experience to ever make that dog hunt. Both my 600 and 650 have been good units - not flawless, but what can you expect from something this cutting edge.

    Insertion:

You're right - it looks like they took one of Tundy's interminable rants and turned it into a petition.

    dlbrummels:

13 cents would be a win. I'd bet the class action lawyers will cop for a settlement for six figures for them, and a $50 off coupon for the class members on their next purchase of a Treo. (Palm OS units only - it won't be applicable to a WM5 Treo - that will await its own defect lawsuit).

    Overall, I'd give them a C-
